At Gymnastics Queensland, we are seeking a highly skilled Championship Events Manager to join our dedicated team.
About the Role
Position: Full-Time (38 hours per week)
Location: Gymnastics Queensland Head Office, Sleeman Sports Complex, Chandler, Brisbane
Event Coverage: Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, and Gold Coast
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the planning, execution, and hands-on delivery of high-quality State-level events (Category 1) across all Gymsports, including MAG, WAG, RG, TRP, ACR, AER, and GfA
* Evaluate event logistics and coordinate diverse stakeholders to ensure alignment with budgets and technical requirements
* Meet or exceed stakeholder expectations by delivering exceptional events that showcase each Gymsport positively
Requirements
We're seeking a passionate and detail-oriented events professional with:
* A proven track record in hands-on event management demonstrating ability to oversee complex logistics and coordinate diverse stakeholders
* Effective time management and prioritization skills to adapt to unexpected challenges with a solution-focused mindset
* Strong communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders and deliver high-quality events that meet all technical and financial requirements
* Collaborative and customer-focused mindset, resilience, and calmness under pressure
Essential Qualifications & Skills
Tertiary qualifications in event management, business, sport management, or a related field
Proven experience in event delivery, including working with volunteers and technical officials
Experience managing employees and collaborating with clubs
Knowledge of gymnastics or sporting events is advantageous
Mandatory Requirements
* Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle
* Current Blue Card (or willingness to obtain one)
* Working With Children (WWC) Check
* Australian driver's licence
* Customer service experience
