* Base salary between $81,000 - $101,000 + penalties + generous allowances + 12.75% super (dependant on quals & experience)

About the team
Based at our Portsmith depot in Cairns, you'll become part of a dedicated team of technicians, electricians, and mechanical staff. As a technician, you'll have the unique opportunity to maintain and service the equipment of the heritage-listed Kuranda Scenic Railway. In our close-knit team, we collaborate to ensure the smooth operation of both freight and passenger services.
About the role
As a Telecommunications Technician you will carry out the installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications and electronic equipment. This role would be best suited to those who are experienced with radio systems, transmission systems and remote monitoring equipment. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. A great opportunity for those wanting to broaden their skillset across the Telecommunication trade and earn more whilst working “on call” and out in the field.
In this role you will:
* Install, maintain and repair telecommunication and electronic equipment
* Maintain records and associated documentation
* Report on actual work performed against the scheduled maintenance program
* Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements
* Ensure all work is performed in accordance with technical and operational specifications
About you
* Sound skill in the installation, maintenance and fault rectification of telecommunications equipment and systems
* Driver’s License
* Must have capacity to travel and work within regional Queensland
* Must have the flexibility to work some overtime and weekends when required
