We are now looking for an experienced Maintainer Operator to join our team onsite at Bulwer Island (Pinkenba).
About the role:
Reporting to the Production Manager, this position exists to take a lead role as a maintainer and operator of ball mills, slag drier, dispatch and wharf operations, including the ship unloader, and perform the preventative maintenance as required to ensure the reliable and safe operation of the mentioned equipment.
* Ensuring the Bulwer Island operations meet Cement Australia’s SHEQ policies and guidelines
* Carry out reactive and preventative maintenance activities such as PMR inspections, electrical troubleshooting, v-belt replacement, conveyor tracking, bucket elevator tracking, dust collector fault finding, conveyor belt gearbox replacement, assist with conveyor belt replacement, conveyor belt drum bearing replacement and supervision of contractors as required
* Safely and efficiently operate the following site equipment: ship unloader and loader, ball mills and auxiliary equipment, slag dryer, raw material unloading/reclaiming system, finished product despatch system and yellow machines
* Supervise production and maintenance contractors as required. This may include issuing Permits for Work as well as review/signoff of Risk Assessments
* Using SAP to raise notifications and work orders for planned and unplanned maintenance works
* Assist with shutdown and general maintenance planning
* Raise purchase requisitions for equipment repairs and parts required for repair
* QC testing of all products produced on site to ensure quality targets are made
About you:
* Previous heavy industry experience
* Trade qualified (Mechanical or Electrical) - advantageous
* EWP Licence
* Confined Space, Working at Heights tickets
* LVR Training (advantageous)
* Prior knowledge and/or exposure to operating or troubleshooting SCADA systems (including the understanding of trends to assist with fault finding and operation of plant/equipment)
* Bobcat and Loader experience (advantageous)
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Positive approach towards continuous improvement and upgrades
* Fault finding and problem-solving skills
* Familiar with the use of small hand and power tools
