Robinson, with opportunities to grow into Project Management and other leadership roles in the forwarding industry.If you're a strong team player with a keen eye for detail and a drive to get the job done, this role is perfect for you.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOverall coordination in conjunction with Project Manager or Regional Project ManagerAssist with rate negotiations and carrier selection, set up template for billing and project reportsReview customer invoicing prior to issuance, monitor credit status and balancesMonitor compliance with insurance requirements, reporting and claim settlementInterface with client when critical issues arise and assess possible solutionsAdvise management of charter requests and legal issues immediatelyCompliance with corporate policy for communication, confidentiality and signing authority (financial and legal commitments)General Operations: Responsible for all project files relating to truck/rail, sea, and air, barge inbound and outboundReview and handle letter of credit files, inclusive of all appropriate documentation and bank discussions. Will discuss letter of credit files with senior management if requiredEnsure that whenever the Company is in a position of potential doubt or liability on a sea freight/surface or air file, that legal counsel is contacted, and clear and precise written direction is obtained in order to proceed and deal with the situationProvide management with any information that will assist in future business development, maintaining clients or increasing profitabilityAssist and prepare agency agreements/contract of services in co-operation with and under management supervisionNegotiate and coordinate project cargo with the requirement that any booking notes or final agreements with carriers for sea carriage are co-signed by another senior managerOn site supervision of loading or discharge of equipment at the port, at rail siding, at barge terminals, at vendor manufacturing plant under the supervision of a Project Manager or Regional Project ManagerOther duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirementsQUALIFICATIONSRequired:High school diploma or Graduate Degree/equivalentMinimum 2-4 years of work experience in managing customer supply chain/breakbulk and project cargo experiencePreferred:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/TAFE or UniversityAbility to travel up to 10%Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven office environmentExcellent verbal & written communication skills and phone etiquetteAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectivelyExceptional customer service skills and follow upKnowledge or coursework in Supply Chain, Logistics and/or International BusinessValues a diverse and inclusive work environmentDisclaimer: This job description is intended to generally describe the nature and level of work to be performed by employees in this position.
