We are looking for a Reliability Engineer to be an integral member of our Asset Management team at Boyne Smelters Limited (BSL) in Gladstone. We need a highly influential change agent who can demonstrate rapid value delivery to their customers. Reporting to the Specialist – Defect Elimination and working in a collaborative cross-functional team environment, you will: Champion the Defect Elimination process for defined areas of site Lead and coach others in structured problem solving activities Utilise data and reliability principles in a process centric manner to identify improvement opportunities Develop and implement effective solutions to problems Implement strategic reliability improvements over medium to long timeframes Build and grow a positive culture across teams and site relating to reliability engineering What you'll bring A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team A tertiary qualification in engineering Demonstrated experience in asset management/reliability skills (defect elimination, asset tactics, lifecycle planning, materials management, etc) Qualifications and expertise in formal structured problem solving of any topic Expertise in analysis of complex information A practical approach to reliability with strong connection to the process and teams Demonstrated experience in utilising cross functional teamwork to obtain maximum results Effective communication skills to liaise with a variety of stakeholders in all forms and at all levels of the business. Where you'll be working Boyne Smelters Limited is Australia's second largest aluminium smelter with a 1,000-person strong workforce. Located approximately 20km south east of Gladstone at Boyne Island on the Central Queensland coast, BSL produces around 500,000 tonnes of aluminium per annum. Activities at BSL include manufacturing carbon anodes in the carbon plant, aluminium production (smelting) in reduction lines, and casting of molten material into aluminium products ready to ship. The smelter is connected via a conveyor belt to the Queensland Alumina Limited refinery for the supply of alumina.
