Nurse Practitioner Alcohol and Other Drugs - Emergency Department
Based in Gippsland, Latrobe Regional Health are looking for a Nurse Practitioner Alcohol and Other Drugs to join our Psychiatric Emergency Care team on a full time basis.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides an advanced nursing practice role within the Emergency Department of Latrobe Regional Health with a key focus on specialist AOD screening, assessment, treatment and referral. The role is also responsible for delivering education, building the capacity of ED staff and some project work in relation to the development of AOD capacity at LRH.
Key areas of the role are:
1. Specialist AOD interventions
2. Implementing standardised and evidence based AOD tools
3. Education for emergency department staff to build their capacity to improve AOD screening, assessment, treatment and referral
4. Service coordination and developing integrated referral pathways with AOD providers and other services external to LRH
5. Developing strategies to meet the 4-hour NEAT for AOD presentations
6. Developing and implementing a secondary AOD consultation program to sub-regional emergency departments across Gippsland
The NP provides professional leadership for all staff of LRH and contributes to education, training and professional development across the service. The NP will work within the scope of practise as an endorsed as a Nurse Practitioner.
