St Mark’s College is looking for enthusiastic Education Support Officers – (Curriculum) to work during the hours of 8.30am - 3.30pm, weekdays. Two positions are available, starting in January 2025.
Suitable for University students looking to gain experience working in a school environment, with flexibility around studies/placement commitments, and/or suitable for experienced classroom support staff.
As an Education Support Officer - Curriculum you will:
* Assist students (either primary or secondary) with in-class learning, using prepared and structured programs developed by teachers.
* Carry out a wide variety of tasks associated with classroom learning experiences (e.g. assisting teachers in preparing, implementing and supervising classrooms and/or intervention programs).
* Assist teachers with the care of students on excursions and camps, as required.
* Apply personal knowledge and initiative to suggest modifications to educational programs to meet the learning needs of specific students, subject to approval of the teacher.
* Assist in the daily administrative operations.
* Develop positive relationships with students, parents and staff.
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Certificate IV in Education Support (or equivalent) or other associated qualification relevant for a school setting (i.e. Education Degree), and/or previously demonstrated experience working in a classroom support role.
* Current Working With Children Clearance.
* Catholic Clearance to undertake paid work in a Catholic school.
* Responding to the Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect Training - Education and Care (RRHAN-EC).
* First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012).
This is a Part-time, Permanent position; Monday - Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm during term times, plus one week prior to commencement of the school year (41 weeks).
