The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced classroom teacher to fill a specialist role teaching Music (Years 7-10) at our Wheelers Hill Campus. Reporting to the Learning Area Leader, this will be an exciting opportunity for interested applicants to join our dynamic and supportive Music team, building a rich curriculum for students at Caulfield Grammar School. This is a permanent, part time (0.8FTE) opportunity.
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, values-driven and possess a forward-thinking mindset. They will demonstrate a passion for engaging and challenging students, a strong commitment to ongoing professional learning and development, and will be comfortable utilising learning technologies.
Key Duties
* Review and assess students at the beginning of each program to provide a flexible program that caters for individual students
* Deliver learning programs that demonstrate a research-based knowledge of how students learn
* Evaluate personal teaching and learning programs including feedback from students and assessment data to inform planning
* Model high expectations to enable a safe and supportive classroom culture
* Provide reports within school standards and timelines
* Actively participate in professional development activities
* Embrace a culture of collaboration to enhance student learning
* Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours
Skills and Experience
* Hold a current VIT registration and relevant teaching qualifications
* Demonstrated experience teaching Music in an educational environment (Years 7-10)
* Ability to connect positively with students and show genuine care for their learning
* Experience teaching Music Technology, including skills in using applications such as Garageband would be an advantage
* Working knowledge of the IB philosophy and approach to teaching is desirable
