We have an opportunity for you to join Samsung Australia to make a difference as our State Sales Manager in the Consumer Electronics (CE) division. As the State Sales Manager, you will lead the State’s Area Managers, Sales Associates, Technical Consultants, and State Trainers to bring the sales & retail strategy to life at store. You will play a key role in developing strong customer relationships with Regional Managers, influential Store Managers, Key Proprietors and those on the steering committee. You will also be the first point of contact for all CE sales matters from Head Office and manage strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
Through understanding the broader Samsung strategy and prioritising conflicting tasks, you will focus on delivering business goals and the State’s sell-out target through strong retail management principles and operational excellence. You will coordinate sales activities through the promotion of Samsung products and drive the team’s behaviours to achieve the business’ targets and budget.
Importantly, you will mentor and develop the field team, ensuring the team perform at their best and over-achieve at every level. You will drive a strong solutions-based sales mindset and ensure the team have the necessary skills and competencies to set them up for success.
Ultimately, you are responsible for delivering a positive Samsung brand experience at store, through your team at each and every touch point, for both consumers and store staff. You will spend a large proportion of your time in the field with your team, checking compliance, gauging brand advocacy, investigating opportunities for sales growth and building relationships with store stakeholders
Role and Responsibilities
Field Sales Management & Relationship Management
1. Responsible for the delivery of the CE sales targets and key Retail Management KPIs for their States
2. Build strong relationships within the States with key contacts e.g. State Leads, Steering Committee and influential Store Managers
3. Conduct monthly meetings with key Harvey Norman Franchisee’s to have data-driven, solutions-based conversations that drive sell-out for the store and State
4. Understand opportunities within each store and retail precinct to drive business and create proposed plans to the business for approval
5. Develop and manage store call cycles, Zones and precincts structure for the State in line with broader national strategy
6. Responsible for the in-store execution of the national merchandising strategy within the States
7. Point of escalation for all field related matters both internally and externally
Team Management, Development & Coaching
8. Oversee team journey plans to drive efficiency and accountability in each State
9. Regular store visits with Area Managers and field staff to develop and mentor them through the ‘Perfect Call’ sales process
10. Oversee the local training strategy and implementation in conjunction with National Training Manager
11. Ensure team tasks set by the business are completed on time and in full
Other Duties
12. Be the point of escalation for all customer enquiries and product returns when not handled in line with consumer expectations
13. Ensure activity records, audit checks and internal reporting is completed, communicated and circulated in accordance with company requirements and procedures
14. Other duties as required and instructed by management
15. Adherence to company policy and procedure at all times
Skills and Qualifications
16. Tertiary education including college diploma (Bachelor Degree preferred) in business, marketing or communications, highly desirable
17. 10+ years of experience leading a field sales team in a State Manager/Area Manager role (experience within the consumer electronics industry is highly regarded)
18. High level of business acumen - strong communication, presentation, listening, influencing and negotiation skills across all levels of business
19. A competent leader of small to large field teams - ability to coach, mentor and efficiently delegate
20. Ability to liaise with Retail store proprietors and Sales teams (both Samsung and Retailer) to gain buy-in and permission to execute in store programs as per the Samsung brief
21. Resilience, adaptable and agile - able to work well in a fast-paced environment and navigating changes

The nature of this role and level of responsibility may require reasonable additional hours over and above 37.5 hours per week and may also require work outside of ordinary hours.
