Working closely with the Community Services and Development team, Community Development is an emerging and exciting role working alongside our clients, families and participants, partnerships and the community to ensure that our local community has the skills and capacity to be fully inclusive of people with disability and their families. The role is also responsible for the facilitation of crucial networks in partnership with community and stakeholders ensuring better outcomes for our clients, stakeholders and community.Who is MpowerMpower is a well-established, successful, accredited not-for-profit community based organisation servicing South West Victoria. Established in 1975, the operation of Mpower has grown from a small voluntary service to an accredited agency employing more than 95 staff, providing a range of clinical and support services to over 1200 families regionally. Vast growth over the last five years, including the introductions of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and expansion of community sector services has allowed us to develop responsive and complimentary services in our local community. The RoleThe Coordinator Community Development leads work across Mpower to develop community capacity and capability for education, participation and inclusion of people with disability and vulnerable families. This includes working with clients, families, stakeholders and community to understand the needs, gaps and opportunities whilst identifying resources to implement solutions either through partnerships or grant applications. The position also facilitates local networks aiming to increase connection and collaboration around local issues and concerns such as support for carers in our region. This role is offered part-time (0.6 FTE) and is flexible, allowing you the opportunity to work from any one of our Mpower sites (Warrnambool, Portland, or Hamilton).About YouThe ideal candidate will have experience and or qualifications working in community development, excellent communication skills including the ability to develop partnerships, facilitate networks as well as and develop funding applications.
