Job Title: Group Exercise Instructor
Summary:
To teach a safe and structured exercise class to members of various abilities, promoting physical fitness and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead high-energy group exercise classes in kickboxing, step aerobics, yoga, Pilates, muscle conditioning, and water aerobics.
* Maintain the cleanliness and organization of exercise equipment, including body bars, stability balls, rubber tubing, and hand weights.
* Provide valuable guidance and support to members on their exercise programs and equipment usage.
* Enforce all facility and program policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
* Craft and deliver effective and engaging exercise routines that cater to diverse fitness levels.
* Tap into experience teaching aerobics to groups of varying sizes.
* Demonstrate knowledge of strength training and cardiovascular exercises.
* Understand fundamental anatomy and physiology principles.
* Help members develop personalized and safe exercise plans.
* Foster strong communication skills for efficient member interactions.
Supervisory Role:
This position has direct supervisory responsibility for all Group Exercise Instructors.
Education and Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. One to three months of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience are preferred.
Certifications:
Instructors must hold primary group exercise certifications from reputable organizations such as ACE, AFFA, ACSM, NETA, AEA, IFTA, or SCW.
