We create and manage infrastructure projects, community assets and environmental development for Brisbane as well as delivering innovative solutions for natural and built environments.The Road Design team designs infrastructure improvements for the Urban Environment, rationalising competing requirements for road space and providing practical, balanced and integrated solutions.The Role In this role, you will co-ordinate and manage the development of civil engineering designs, provide technical guidance and civil engineering certification for transport infrastructure projects.Some of your key responsibilities include: Leading and managing a medium size design team delivering design and documentation for transport infrastructure projects to agreed quality, time and budget.Facilitating and attending design meetings with customers, sub-consultants and other stakeholders.Monitoring and updating project schedules against agreed timelines and providing progress reports to the Program Manager.Providing guidance and direction to professional and technical staff to resolve design issues.Handling the preparation and delivery of designs and drawings associated with transport infrastructure projects in consultation with customers and key stakeholders.To be successful in this role, you will have: Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate and manage the development of civil engineering designs associated with transport infrastructure projects.Robust knowledge of integrated road and traffic design principles and techniques, and extensive experience in the investigation, review and recommendation of options on technical issues relating to road design.High level written and verbal communication skills, with experience in customer management, consultation, negotiation and report writing.Experience planning, managing and delivering projects on time, of agreed quality and within budget.The ability to be agile and adapt to changing project requirements.It is a mandatory requirement to possess a current 'C' class drivers licence, hold a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering and have registration as a Professional Engineer in Queensland or Chartered Status with Engineers Australia in the division of Civil Engineering or the ability to apply and gain RPEQ status within two months of employment.
