Tug Engineers required - Gladstone, Brisbane, Mackay, Weipa - Multiple positions Smit Lamnalco is the leading provider of safe, reliable and cost-effective integrated midstream marine services.We own, operate and manage a modern diverse fleet of approximately 150 vessels.With more than 1700 crew and staff worldwide, Smit Lamnalco is dedicated to providing marine support services tailored to the operational needs of global customers in local markets.Active in over 30 countries, Smit Lamnalco specializes in bringing international standards on safety, logistics, mooring and towage to onshore and offshore operations in challenging environments.HQ is based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands with our Australian region, boasting a fleet of over 30 vessels across multiple ports along the East Coast, where we pride ourselves on our safety culture, work ethic and commitment to the environment.Due to rapid and ongoing expansion we are seeking expressions of interest from dynamic and experienced Marine Engineers to join our growing team.Job DescriptionSmit Lamnalco is seeking expressions of interest from qualified, experienced and enthusiastic Engineers for our East Coast Towage operations.We are looking for pro-active and diligent crew to join our growing fleet.Full time, Job share, and casual positions available.You will be part of a small team.As a crew of three you will report to the Contract Manager and Master onboard the vessel.You will: Be responsible for the safe operation of the vessels and engines, generators and associated machinery and equipment.Ensure that all machinery (deck and engine) is maintained to operational standards at all times.Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.Carry out routine maintenance and repairs as and when required, and to take responsibility for ensuring that the Planned Maintenance System is carried out onboard vessels.Liaise and coordinate with technical superintendent all engineering activities resulting from vessel surveys defects, inspection outcomes and audit deficiencies.Stay up to date on company training and be responsible for training new employees. QualificationsTo be considered for this opportunity applicants will hold: Minimum AMSA Class 1, Class 2 or Class 3 Certificate of Competency.In the case of a Class 3, the holder must also possess a relevant trade qualification (fitter & turner, electrical fitter, diesel fitter) or other equivalent engineering trade.The successful applicant(s) must hold a current AMSA Certificate of Competency.Valid AMSA Certificate of Medical Fitness.Valid MSIC or eligible to apply.Strong problem solving, analysis and assessment skills.Experience in the use of onboard planned maintenance systems.
