Location: Henderson, Perth WA Industry: Structural Steel Fabrication Our client, a leading structural steel fabrication company based in Henderson, is seeking a Senior Estimator / Business Development Manager to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in structural steel and sheet steel estimating and looking to bring their expertise to a growing business. Key Responsibilities: Contribute to project 'buildability' during the design phase to ensure cost-effective solutions. Review preliminary specifications, drawings, and other documents to determine project scope. Develop detailed project scopes in collaboration with the Project Manager and clients. Ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory, and service requirements throughout the project. Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities and cost plans in a timely manner. Send out tender packages to approved subcontractors, suppliers, and trades. Conduct comprehensive reviews of subcontractor and supplier pricing. Prepare tender submissions in partnership with the Project Manager. Stay updated on the latest design and construction techniques to provide innovative solutions for clients. Skills and Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in structural steel and sheet steel estimating in the manufacturing/fabrication industry. Solid understanding of welded products and the engineering processes behind fabricated steel products. Proficiency in interpreting engineering and architectural drawings and determining the scope of works. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines. Self-motivated, with initiative and the ability to confidently read and interpret specifications. Demonstrated experience in compiling tenders and quotes. Strong negotiation skills, with experience in a similar role. High attention to detail and accuracy. Experience in mining or construction project estimating will be highly advantageous. Tertiary qualifications in building, engineering, quantity surveying, or related fields (desirable). Experience in the mining, large-scale industry, and infrastructure sectors (desirable).
