Stay active and explore with hikes up Rocky Cape or bike rides along the scenic coastal pathway___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Key Responsibilities:Development & Land Use PlanningProvide professional support for statutory development control functions.Advise on the Land Use and Planning Approvals Act 1993 and the Tasmanian Planning Scheme Waratah-Wynyard.Research, interpret, and apply relevant legislation.Liaise with government and non-government agencies to ensure compliance.Process development applications in a professional and timely manner.Develop and maintain the Council's Local Provisions Schedules.Monitor and maintain the planning scheme.Advise on compliance and recommend appropriate actions.Represent the Council in Planning Appeal conferences when required.Customer ServiceProvide high-level customer service to internal and external stakeholders.Communicate effectively with a focus on solutions and outcomes.Engage with the community on planning matters.Address customer queries and complaints within service level standards.Resource SharingProvide planning services to Circular Head Council as per the Resource Sharing agreement.Records Management & ConfidentialityMaintain accurate and relevant records.Ensure confidentiality of Council-related activities and documentation.Procurement & Risk ManagementPurchase goods/services within procurement policies and financial limits.Promote risk awareness and assist in risk mitigation.Support investigations of risk management issues.Performance & Additional DutiesDevelop and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Complete additional duties as required within the scope of the role.Work Health & Safety (WHS) ResponsibilitiesComply with Council's WHS policies and procedures.Ensure personal and team safety.Report hazards, incidents, and maintain safety standards.
