Overview: As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing for our diverse team of approximately 300 employees. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a strong understanding of payroll procedures and regulations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll disbursement while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities: Payroll Processing: Collect, review, and process timesheets, ensuring accuracy and completeness.Calculate wages, deductions, and withholdings, including taxes, insurance, and retirement contributions.Verify and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.Address any discrepancies or issues with timesheets or payroll data in a timely manner.Employee Records Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, tax withholding forms, and banking details.Process new employee paperwork, including Tax File Number declarations and bank account details.Update employee records as needed, such as changes in tax status, salary adjustments, or employment status.Benefits Administration: Assist employees with inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and benefits.Administer employee benefits programs, including bonuses, and yearly salary increases.Understanding of the Children's Services Award with Level Increases and Level allocation.Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and tax laws.Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and reports as required.Ability to compare wages vs allocations.Communication and Support: Communicate payroll-related policies and procedures to employees and managers as needed.Provide support and assistance to employees regarding payroll inquiries, discrepancies, and concerns.Collaborate with the Human Resources team to address payroll and personnel issues effectively.Termination PayoutsWorkers Compensation transactionsQualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.Proven experience in payroll processing and administration, preferably in a large organisation.Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Strong organisational and time-management skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
