We are looking for a Senior Process Control Engineer for a Site based 6 month contract position, working on providing automated control systems for a project in remote WA.
This role is site based, 8:6 Roster, Roughly $95 - $105 per hour + Super Key accountabilities will include: • Design and deliver process control systems for Mine site and fixed plant Operations, Power, NPI, Water and new Development projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner • Design review and validation of various engineering designs and associated components • Resolution of technical and design issues • Selecting key components which are suitable for the individual or standard application / project • Capable of prioritizing and delivering work in a fast-moving environment • Ability to adjust to change quickly and adapt to new requirements • Providing technical guidance on all Process Control Systems Engineering related works being carried out • Proactively deliver on the company's stretch targets • Develop technical specifications to meet project specific objectives • Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications, and scopes • Ensure compliance to the project management process by project owners • Manage control system contractors for the work progress and deliverables • Review existing control systems and recommend upgrades and modifications based on value • Identify best practices related to instrumentation and process control and drive its adoption • Develop hardware and software standards and design for the technical solutions implemented • Deploy and commission the automation technology to various operational and future projects to accelerate the world class growth of our business • Providing regular updates to the Principal Control System including work progress, risks, and priorities • Hands on programming, PLC and SCADA systems.
Qualifications and skills required: • Bachelor of Electrical, Electronics, Control Systems or Mechatronics Engineering • 10+ years' experience in Control Systems Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar role • HME/Automotive experience highly advantageous • Experience working on power and renewable energy projects highly advantageous • PLC and HMI Programming experience • SCADA programming experience, Ignition SCADA, Cimplicity, Win CC, other • Strong conceptual thinking and analytical focus • Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and in multidiscipline teams • Experience with other widely used industrial comms protocols, such as MQTT, PROFINET, Profibus and Modbus • Experience with different system controllers and programming languages, such as Structured Text, Function Block, Ladder, C#, VB • Experience with design and development of Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems and SCADA • Miri mapping and coding highly advantageous • Experience with operation of inverters, chargers and VSD • Experience with Functional Safety principle and familiar with Functional Safety standard and compliance • Experience with control system design, development, and commissioning phases • Experience in designing high voltage DC power systems with experience in electrical noise filtration is advantageous • Excellent communication skills • Ability to multi-task and be highly organised • Ability to lead instrumentation and process control audits and develop associated action plans.
