The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Cook to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
1. Ensure all food preparation, cooking production and presentation methods are accordance with set standards
2. Manage the plating of main meals and coordinate the production of services
3. Work with minimal supervision ensuring all food and beverage is prepared in accordance with set standards
4. Ensure the efficient ordering of stock and food to ensure the quality of food products
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
5. While not mandatory, a current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and relevant commercial cookery qualification would be highly desirable
6. Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
7. Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
8. Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
9. Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
18. Temporary full time (up to 6 months with the possibility of extension)
19. Base salary ranging from $2 510.50 - $2 631.50 per fortnight

Retail Food Services provides the general public, staff and patients with a range of healthy hot and cold food and drink options seven (7) days per week from our retail outlets of Pulse Café located at Gold Coast University Hospital and from Bayberry Café at Robina Hospital.
