One purpose, one practice.We are an independent, contemporary, national business with the scale and capabilities to support public purpose projects and governments at all levels right across Australia.Setting a new standard for public sector advisory services in Australia, Scyne is conflict free from the private sector, with rigorous governance and accountability frameworks and standards.Scyne is an Australian company, with an independent Chair and a Board, with two other non-executive directors, regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).Our vision is to be the public purpose sector specialists, focused on helping governments and their agencies build more resilient, secure, equitable and prosperous communities.KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYDesigning and implementing robust cloud-based data architectures for our clients and evaluating their cost and feasibility.Designing and implementing data schemas across traditional databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.Developing ETL processes covering the data lifecycle, including ingestion, analysis, and preparation for reporting.Testing and validation of data processing and integrity.Ability to connect into visualisation platforms, and present information in a meaningful, understandable and accessible way for our clients.Writing and maintaining technical user documentation to aid our clients with ongoing maintenance and support.Applying knowledge of technology trends, and their influence on industries, to identify strategic opportunities and challenges.Identifying, assessing and translating complex business problems into technology solutions.Assist in the development of Scyne's service and product offerings.WORKING RELATIONSHIPSWork closely with technical experts from our clients to review data architectures and structures, ensuring high quality delivery of data-based products.Work closely with our clients as a trusted advisor completing analysis to understand their problems and form recommendations.Work effectively with Managing Directors, Directors and Managers to provide business support, maintain communication and update on engagement progress.Partner with Government based clients to provide implementation support including project management office support and coaching to uplift their internal capabilities.Provide mentoring to other team members within a collaborative team environment.PERSONAL QUALITIES & ATTRIBUTESA desire to gain experience with government / public sector organisations.Strong communications and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to deliver high quality analytical products and outcomes in agreed timeframes.Demonstrated proficiency / training in data engineering and analysis.Demonstrated proficiency / training in quantitative / qualitative analytics, collaborative engagement and stakeholder management.A growth mindset with a bias towards continual process and performance excellence.A collaborative team player – focused on own performance and priorities but equally interested in supporting other people to be successful, respecting differing viewpoints and valuing input from others.Positivity, resilience, and a deep sense of commitment and purpose.A personal brand of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information.Professionalism and a commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards.QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCEAn ability to apply structured thinking and analysis techniques to complex and ambiguous problems.Technical skills across the data engineering landscape, including SQL, programming languages such as Python or Node, APIs, and visualisation software.Experience with a range of data engineering solutions such as MS SQL Server, Postgres, Redshift, NoSQL databases, Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Fabric, AWS Athena, AWS RDS, AWS Aurora.Experience with cloud providers including AWS and/or Azure.Experience with the development lifecycle (including DevOps).Highly developed written and verbal communication particularly when communicating on an engagement to a wide range of stakeholders.Ability to articulate and clearly communicate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical and impactful manner.Passion for technology trends e.g.
