Protect your community as an On-Call Firefighter with Fire and Rescue NSW, working from your local fire station to respond to emergency incidents, conduct community safety and education activities, and provide a range of firefighting and rescue services. You will need to be team-oriented, adaptable, and reliable, with a valid NSW driver's licence and live or work within a reasonable distance of the fire station. Training is provided on an ongoing basis, covering all aspects of firefighting and rescue. You will be required to attend a minimum of 33% of all calls over a six-month period and 80% of all calls received by the brigade during compulsory availability. You must also attend a minimum of 75% of drills. To be successful, you will need to demonstrate strong communication skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and capacity to learn new skills and apply them in a practical setting. The selection process will involve an interview, physical aptitude test, and pre-employment health assessment. You will be required to provide an up-to-date resume and answer two targeted questions as part of the application process.
