Full-time Sleep Neurodiagnostic Technologist (Life Scientist) position available in Miranda NSW 2228The Sleep Cottage is a paediatric sleep laboratory in Miranda, NSW. Specialized in the study and treatment of sleep disorders in children. On behalf of the company, we are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Sleep Neurodiagnostic professional to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and analysing neurodiagnostic sleep studies in paediatric patients, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis that contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of sleeps disorders in children.Position Responsibilities and Tasks :Prepare patients and their families for sleep studies, providing clear instructions and explanations about procedures and what to expect during the study.Perform overnight polysomnography on paediatric patients, ensuring the proper setup and calibration of equipment.Initiate and manage patients on CPAP and non-invasive ventilation therapy.Continuously monitor patients during sleep studies using Compumedics and Nox systems to record physiological data such as brain activity, eye movements, heart rate, muscle activity, and respiration.Analyse sleep study data to identify sleep stages, patterns, and any abnormalities, preparing detailed reports for review by medical professionals.Regularly inspect and maintain neurodiagnostic and sleep study equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly and safely.Work closely with our paediatrician to discuss findings, provide insights, and develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients with diagnosed sleep disorders.Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in sleep medicine and neurodiagnostic, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and research projects.Implement and adhere to protocols for quality control, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of sleep study data.Qualifications and Skills :Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, or other relevant field.At least one year of experience in a related role.Strong understanding of neurophysiological principles and sleep medicine with experience in scoring / analysis of sleep studies is highly desirable.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with children and their families.Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.Salary : This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $73,200 - $88,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
