About your opportunity The Department of Social Work within The Townsville Hospital and Health Service provides comprehensive Social Work services as an integral part of its health care delivery system.
The purpose of this role is to provide high level Social Work services and management of all patients on the residential aged care and NDIS pathways.
This position will deliver high level clinical social work services working both within a multidisciplinary environment and across a number of wards and clinics.
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following: Demonstrated ability to participate in the planning and evaluation of local service improvement initiatives and contribute to staff and student skill enhancement.
Ability to contribute to a positive work culture and to actively support quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
Demonstrated ability to effectively participate in social work and multidisciplinary teams under the clinical practice supervision of more senior practitioners and to communicate, negotiate and advocate across teams, the organisation and external agencies.
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in social work practice, theoretical perspectives, social systems, legislation and policies relevant to healthcare obtained through relevant tertiary education.
Ability to apply established ethical principles and practice standards to core social work clinical services and social work tasks.

Participation in clinical on-call arrangements (including the Department's Emergency Clinical Oncall Roster which requires a 30 minute response time), shift work (including early, late and night, as well as weekends and public holidays).
