Key Responsibilities:
* Working as a part of a high performing team of problem solvers
* Delivering firm wide capabilities across multi-disciplinary teams
* Conducting applied research on current issues
* Supporting a wide array of modelling and analysis and report writing
* Areas of focus include economics, labour market modelling and analysis
* Delivering engagement within a small team, working closely in the area of economics, climate change, labour market etc.
* Actively assisting the team in proposals and new pursuits
Skills and Attributes:
* Tertiary Education with subject of statistics, economics, public policy, finance and business. Advanced degree (Master, or Ph.D) is preferred but not essential
* 1-5 years experience in economics, finance or business analysis at Analyst and Consultant level depending on skills and experience
* Strong problem-solving abilities
* Demonstrated experience or potential in the application of performing different valuation techniques
* Undertake relevant economic research and writing reports on key findings
* Excellent numerical & analytical, teamwork and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to undertake qualitative or quantitative analysis to support projects.
* Analyse economic and financial information by using statistics, software or mathematical models
* Ability to engage with multi-task to meet engagement and stakeholder requirements
* Positive, collaborative and proactive work approach in a team
* Based in Canberra and able to attend the office 3 days a week
Desirable Knowledge:
* Macroeconomics
* Industry experience ideally in one of the areas: energy, banking & finance, climate or sustainability
* Climate Change Impact
* Economic modelling – numerical and analytics skills, using Excel or other tools (e.g. R, Python or others)
* General knowledge on labour market and demographics (population)
* General knowledge on econometrics or Input-Output (or CGE) modelling
