The Role
We are seeking applications for a Paralegal role to join our Joondalup office on a permanent basis.
Please note that although this role is a full-time opportunity, we are open to discussions around either a part-time or flexible work arrangement, in the equivalent of 4 days per week, for the right candidate.
Working with an experienced and dedicated team, this is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to make a difference and advance their career in personal injury.
* Assist solicitors with the day-to-day operations of files/client management.
* Be the first point of contact for clients and answer clients’ enquiries.
* Working with a mixed file load across various personal injury matter types including mainly motor vehicle accident matters, in addition to some criminal injuries compensation and public liability matters.
* Prepare matters for conference and hearing including preparation of court documents, legal documents and general correspondence.
* Draft briefs, documents such as claim forms, court documents and schedules of damages and liaise with Counsel.
* Correspond, brief and liaise with medical practitioners and other experts.
* Coordinate medico-legal appointments, compulsory conferences and mediations.
* Manage complex databases of information.
* Devise systems to support information retention and accessibility.
* Administration tasks as required.
The Skills
* Proven experience as a Legal Assistant in personal injuries is desirable.
* Client service oriented, strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Proactive, self-starter and displays initiative, with the ability to work autonomously as well as follow processes and direction from supervisors.
* Strong MS Office skills and the ability to learn new systems and platforms.
