Job Description
1. Full Time
The Microbiologist is responsible for performing analytical methods, operating equipment/analytical instruments, and managing sample registration, testing and confirmation. The Microbiologist may have a supervisory role over an area within the laboratory, a particular suite of testing or provide general guidance to the Laboratory Technicians in the laboratory. The position will support method development, laboratory optimisation and have a major contribution to the objectives of the laboratory including PCR Setup and reporting.

Qualifications
6. Tertiary qualifications in Science or equivalent qualification; or equivalent experience.
7. At least 1-2 year’s Food laboratory experience; experience in a commercial laboratory will be an advantage.
8. Experience in using different equipment/instrumental and sample preparation techniques.
9. Technical knowledge in the relevant scientific discipline.
10. Good knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel.
