About the team: Located in the Planning and Regulation Department, the City Development Branch is responsible for the management and assessment of customer development applications, including the provision of planning and building advice, development assessment and improvement, infrastructure charge review, developer contributions, infrastructure compliance and planning appeals and research. About your new role: We're seeking a Senior Infrastructure Agreements Officer to join our City Development team! As part of a dynamic team, you will apply your professional skills in town planning, statutory or contract law, to a diverse range of projects. You will provide professional support to the Infrastructure Compliance Leader, Council's solicitors, and infrastructure network experts to ensure that the development and delivery of infrastructure in the City is in accordance with current approvals, Infrastructure Agreements, Council's planning scheme, policies and guidelines, the Corporate Plan and relevant Acts. Key deliverables of the position: Manage infrastructure agreement applications and support the development assessment process in relation to development infrastructure requirements. Coordinate the infrastructure offset process, ensuring the infrastructure is delivered and offset in accordance with relevant development approvals and infrastructure agreement requirements. Provide professional support to the Infrastructure Compliance Leader, the City's solicitors and infrastructure network experts. Work collaboratively and productively within a multi-disciplinary team environment applying relevant communication and problem-solving skills to negotiate complex technical matters. We're looking for people who have: Experience in development assessment, infrastructure agreements or contract law. A bachelor's degree in Town Planning or Law (with a focus on planning or contract law) or demonstrated equivalent knowledge. Knowledge of relevant planning and local government legislation to support the infrastructure agreement process. Excellent partnership and stakeholder engagement skills. Strong interpersonal, oral and written skills including negotiation and consultation skills and the ability to articulate complex matters. Able to conduct research, analyse problems, and engage in effective problem-solving. Able to contribute to the review and development of operational policies, practice, and guidelines relevant to the role.
