The Role
Our client in Darwin is seeking a Staff Specialist Medical Oncologist responsible for specialist diagnosis, treatment and care for public hospital outpatients in the subspecialty of medical oncology.
The Location
Situated on the edge of a harbour bigger than Sydney's, this is a beautiful, fascinating tropical city, a melting pot of people and cultures that prides itself on its unique and friendly laid-back lifestyle. While a sophisticated, modern city in its own right, it is also one steeped in history, one that has endured many hardships on its way to establishing itself as the gateway to Asia. It is the home of NT commerce and business and with its world-class natural and cultural attractions it is also a thriving hub of activity in terms of tourism, nightlife and retail.
The Facility
This is a Tertiary level 3 Teaching Hospital with just under 400 beds and around 1,700 staff. The hospital services a population of 200,000 in a catchment area including urban communities, regional hospitals and remote Aboriginal communities. The hospital is affiliated with Flinders University with an onsite Medical School and is ACEM accredited as a major referral centre for two years of advanced emergency training.
The Requirements
To apply you must either be:
* Registered with AHPRA and have at least 12 months recent experience in Medical Oncology
* On RACP training program within 6 months of completing fellowship
* Hold or be eligible for the FRACP
* IMG's eligible for Competent Authority Pathway - UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, NZ
* IMG's with RACP interview date
* IMG's assessed by RACP and found to be substantially comparable.
