We share what we know and we challenge what’s possible.From manufacturing and engineering to cybersecurity and space, we’re driving progress in some of the world’s most important industries – and working together to build a future we can all trust.YOUR ROLE:The HSE Advisor is required to assist the HSE Manager with providing support to the Thales Protected Vehicles domain and the development and implementation of HSE Programs contained in the site strategy and objectives.Working at our Bendigo site, on Dja Dja Wurrung Land, your day to day responsibilities include:Assisting the HSE Manager to implement the Bendigo site HSE Plan and its associated programs.Conducting investigations of accidents, incidents and hazards on site ensuring that they are investigated effectively and that appropriate actions are identified, recommended and followed up, to prevent future occurrences.Assisting with the HSE administration of the statistical reporting systems.Assisting with chemical audits, risk assessment and the administration of the Chemwatch chemical management database.Assisting Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and Managers to effectively implement the Risk Assessment and Hazard Management program across the site.Working with HSRs and Managers to conduct random workplace inspections and monitor the implementation of generated corrective actions.YOUR EXPERIENCE:Formal qualifications or a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Environment (highly desirable).Previous experience in a similar HSE role with experience interacting with management through to shop floor employees and external stakeholders.Practical knowledge of the production/construction and or manufacturing environment.Ability to work with minimal supervision and ability to lead, motivate and influence others.Sound computer skills in use of Microsoft Office products.As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.We’re committed to supporting a diverse workplace, and that starts here.
