The Mersey Community Hospital (MCH), Latrobe offers general and specialist health services including a 24-hour emergency department, general medicine, day surgery, endoscopy, rehabilitation, palliative care, and oncology services.
The MCH ED is a vibrant department with 13 cubicles (2 resus bays, 6 acute bays, 5 sub-acute) plus a fast track area and a 7-bed EMU, providing emergency care 24/7.
The Role:
The Mersey Community Hospital is seeking motivated Emergency Department Support Officers to join their team. The successful Emergency Department Support Officers will:
* Assist the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) - Emergency Department (ED) in ensuring a safe and secure environment within the ED.
* Act as a member of the Code Black Team across the entire Hospital after hours and conduct internal hospital security functions as directed.
* Provide support services to the ED, including assisting with transporting patients to and from diagnostic services.
* Provide manual handling assistance with patient care requirements when and as directed.
* Assist the NUM in the maintenance and management of ED equipment.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, part-time, shift worker position, working up to 72 hours per fortnight. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar part-time and casual vacancies.
Salary: $67,193 to $70,993 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022 .
