The Hospital:
This is a 189 bed specialist teaching hospital servicing a population dispersed over 1.6 million square kilometres. This dispersion provides unique and rewarding challenges in the delivery of a range of comprehensive health services. Opened in 1977 the hospital was extensively redeveloped in 2002 with further rectification work in 2009 and is complemented by a setting of superbly designed gardens and outdoor areas. The hospital provides the following services: Day Procedure, Emergency, Intensive Care and High Dependency, Maternity, Medical, Outpatients, Paediatric, Special Care Nursery, Surgical and Mental Health, plus arrange of clinical support services. It is also accredited with the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards and has links to many external research organisations.
The Role:
This is a Level 2 accredited teaching hospital for 24 of 36 months of training.
The Requirements:
You must hold General Registration with AHPRA or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
