As an Ecologist in our Ecology or R&D/Restoration Team, you will develop and lead consulting and research projects to achieve key ecological outcomes. You will be part of a passionate and diverse team committed to Succession Ecology's values. Your role will include frequent field work in locations throughout Australia (typically in SA), and office work based in Edwardstown, SA. Essential Criteria. Post-graduate degree in a relevant life-science discipline. Professional experience (5+ years) in the environmental industry, preferably in SA. Field survey experience, such as ecological surveying, flora and fauna identification, and data collection. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with experience in report writing. Demonstrable project management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team of professionals. Availability for fieldwork on extended trips (up to 14 days). Demonstrable skills in the Microsoft 365 package. Demonstrable skills in ArcGIS Pro and field mapping. Demonstrable skills in data management. Knowledge of South Australian ecosystems. Current driver's licence. Desirable criteria. PhD in Ecology, Environmental Science, or another relevant life-science discipline. Substantial (10+ years) experience in the environmental industry. Demonstrable skills in botany, zoology, or other areas of natural history. Demonstrable skills in data analysis and experience in statistical software such as R. Experience in State and Commonwealth regulatory frameworks and policy. Native Vegetation Council accreditation. Remote First Aid and White Card accreditation.
