This role is not just a job; it’s a gateway to professional growth and a chance to play a pivotal role in shaping the cultural, recreational and educational journey of our members.Role Summary:The Israel Engagement Program Coordinator is an integral part of the Events and Cultural Arts team, assisting with curating and implementing high-end cultural arts and Israel engagement programs and partnerships and providing front-of-house support at our Leah Posluns Theatre. The programs will seek to provide an enriched opportunity for participants to enjoy high-end programming and form a meaningful connection to one another, the JCC and Israel.Our Israel Engagement Program Coordinator should be able to efficiently handle multiple tasks simultaneously, even under high pressure situations, while maintaining a keen attention to detail. Adaptability and the ability to multi-task and think on their feet are essential. Exceptionally strong administration and organization skills, combined with sales and customer service prowess and effective communication in English and Hebrew would allow one to excel in this role. Being willing and able to work a flexible schedule including at evenings and some weekends where needed is essential (we do provide for an adjusted day/lieu time). Also able to work at our north location, the Schwartz/Reisman Centre as needed (Bathurst/Rutherford).Key Responsibilities include:Coordinate events and Israel Engagement Programs from design, vendor booking/coordination, floorplans, security coordination.Support director in administration, budgeting, planning, implementation, marketing, and evaluation of events.Maintain and manage database and tracking system for events and participants.Assist with developing, implementing, overseeing, and evaluating in-person Israel engagement programming and events to the highest caliber consistent with the organization’s vision and mission.Develop relationships with event attendees and artists to increase engagement and retention and gain an understanding of their needs to actively promote a comfortable, accessible, and welcoming environment.Negotiate, prepare, administer, and monitor contracts and agreements with book publishers, speaker’s agents, authors and others involved in delivering programs and activities.Work collaboratively with the Fundraising department on sponsorship agreements, donor relationships, and fundraising plans.Innovate and suggest new events/programs that meet these needs, particularly in family/adult programming and Israeli community engagement, in line with the strategic directions of the program and events department.Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of rental supplies, equipment, policies, and procedures.Assist with large community events.Coordinate, schedule and supervise volunteers who are assisting at events.What do you bring?At least two-three years’ experience in customer service and administration.Experience supporting programs for the Israeli and Jewish Community.Fluent Hebrew and English (verbal and written).Empathy, patience and tact.Very strong organization and technical skills (Canva, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc).Experience in not-for-profit environment an asset.A commitment to building Jewish Community.Who We Are:The Jewish Community Centre (JCC) is more than just a workplace—it’s a vibrant hub of culture, connection, and community.
