Responsible for the supervision, development and leadership of warehouse employees. Responsible for planning and ensuring adherence to planned cycle counts in line with company policy including maintaining all relevant records. Responsible for continuous review of current work practices; implementation of change and efficiency initiatives. Responsible for overseeing supervision and coordination of movements of all product in and out of the warehouse. Responsible for prioritising all distribution activities to meet internal and external customer needs with overall accountability for customer on time delivery. Responsible for being an active participant in the development of DAPL’s safety system including the implementation and adoption of the safety system within the department; being seen as an active change agent and safety leader; and responsible for complying with all WHS Regulations, policies; and procedures within the Warehouse. This also includes ensuring adherence to current return to work plans and requirements. Responsible for ensuring all equipment used within department is the best option available in order to meet budget requirements; efficiency gains; and all customer requirements. Conducts regular bench-mark reviews of systems and equipment used against industry to ensure DC is remains competitive. Work with customer service and sales to adjust DC practices to meet changing customer needs and improve service offering. Provide direction on local and international freight negotiations for the company. Work collaboratively with other departments (Sales; Purchasing; Finance; Head of Operations) to ensure competitive service offering. Leads implementation of DPS and ISO 9001:2015 projects and systems for department. Model and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Safety Actively promotes safety by ensuring safe systems of work and all equipment within role and department. Adheres to all company WHS policies and procedures. Follows client’s and supplier’s WHS policies and procedures when on site. Reports all incidents within WHS policy requirements; implements outcomes as requested. Attends toolbox meetings. General Undertakes all tasks with a positive and professional work ethic. Ensures all activities comply with the company’s Code of Conduct; company policies and procedures; and all relevant legislation, legal and professional standards. Undertakes any other task associated with the operations of the business that may be reasonably requested from time to time or subject to a specific direction. Key Qualifications & RequirementsEducation Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Business or a Logistics Qualification Certificate III in Warehousing is desirable. DPS/Lean/ Six Sigma qualifications desirable Technical Competence & Skills: Results driven with strong organisational, time management and task management skills. Strong ability to drive and manage change. Strong planning and analytical skills with the ability to think strategically. Strong ability to assess risk; make decisions and provide solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong active listening skills. Strong customer focus with an ability to exceed expectations. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of computer systems and programs relevant to the industry. Experience in managing IR functions. Exposure to customers and sales highly desirable. Leadership Competence: Exceptional leadership experience with at least 5-10 years’ experience in leading, developing and supervising a large team. Proven ability to motivate and empower direct reports. Experience in managing IR functions. Relevant Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years’ management experience in Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, Warehouse and Customer Service WMS Management Others (% of travel, language, etc.): Some travel may be required.
