We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to assist an NDIS participant with dementia in their daily living and personal care needs. The successful candidate will provide essential care and domestic support to enable the client to maintain their independence, comfort, and quality of life. This role also involves supporting the client in engaging with their community, attending social activities, and maintaining a safe and clean-living environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Personal Care:- Assist the client with daily hygiene, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.- Monitor and assist with medication administration according to care plans.2. Domestic Support:- Perform household cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, dusting, and washing dishes.- Assist with laundry, including washing, drying, ironing, and folding clothes.- Prepare and cook nutritious meals, considering the client's dietary needs and preferences.- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for the client.3. Community Engagement:- Support the client in attending social and recreational activities, such as community events, group activities, and appointments.- Accompany the client on outings, ensuring their safety and comfort.- Encourage participation in activities that promote physical and mental well-being.4. Transport and Mobility:- Drive the client to appointments, social events, and other necessary outings.- Assist the client with getting in and out of the car and ensure safe transportation.- Maintain a reliable and well-maintained vehicle for transportation needs5. Health and Safety:- Monitor the client's health and report any changes in condition to your supervisor- Follow the care plan and adhere to safety protocols to ensure the well-being of the client.- Handle emergencies calmly and efficiently, seeking medical assistance when necessary.Key Requirements- Qualifications:- Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care/Disability) or equivalent qualification preferred.- Current First Aid and CPR certification.Experience:- Experience working with individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments.- Previous experience in personal care and domestic support roles is advantageous.Skills and Competencies:- Compassionate, patient, and understanding approach to care.- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with clients respectfully.- Reliable, punctual, and organized with attention to detail.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Other Requirements:- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable, registered, and insured vehicle.- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain one).- Right to work in Australia.
