You will work with a multidisciplinary team of medical and allied health professionals on site to contribute to positive mental health outcomes for the Australian Defence Force personnel at Lavarack Health Centre. This role is currently Part Time 0.4FTE, with shifts Thursday and Friday weekly 7:30am - 4pm.
As a Psychologist, you'll make a positive impact by:
Performing intake assessments and risk assessmentsProviding crisis interventionPlanning case formulation and treatment planningProviding programmatic treatment interventionsAbout ADF Health Services In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia.
This includes providing defence-ready clinical and support staff across 45+ on-base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.
About Lavarack Health Centre Lavarack Health Centre is located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia. It includes the Operational Deployment Force and facilities to undertake mission rehearsal exercises prior to deployment. The facility provides primary medical, underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care to approximately 8000 members. It also operates a 24/7 inpatient low dependency ward. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend shifts).

Your patients will be compliant and you will have the time to spend with each individual patient. Shifts are lifestyle friendly in this Psychologist role, being Monday and Friday day shifts - no nights or weekends.
To be successful in this role you'll have the following:
Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a general Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)Minimum of 2 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) Post Graduate Experience in the last 5 years in mental health in a primary health or specialist mental health setting undertaking comprehensive mental health assessment and delivering a range of evidence-based 'Focussed Psychological Strategies' as defined under the Medicare SchedulePlease note:
