The Compliance Advisor provides environmental, Health and Safety Strategies, policies and processes in support of the Company's operations.
Responsible for evaluating, developing, planning, directing, training, and implementing environmental, safety, and health initiatives that will ensure a safe, healthy and accident-free working environment.This includes:Support the national EHS strategy through delivery of programs, coaching and support (where able) to other facilities within the national footprintProvide oversight and leadership for assigned regulatory programsServe as primary point of contact for environmental and safety compliance issuesProvide oversight and management of the integrated safety and environment management systemWork with operations to meet environmental and safety expectations and improve operating metricsAssist in the development and implementation of policies and directives for relevant facilitiesProvide professional guidance, assistance and training to facility personnelAssist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements for assigned operations and programsAssist with development of Corporate EHS directives and review implementation at assigned facilitiesConduct investigations, direct remediation activities, and make presentations to appropriate personnelAbout you:Ability to multi-task, follow-through, work independently, and meet critical regulatory deadlinesStrong analytical and technical skillHigh level problem solving skills and the ability to work as part of a team.Ability and willingness to further your knowledge and skills with additional training.High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to travel locally on demand - 20% travel expected.Skills and experience:Must hold a Certificate IV in Work Health SafetyMinimum of 2 years' experience in EHS or rail related environment requiredSolid understanding of environmental, health, and safety practices and regulatory requirementsExperience conducting EHS compliance and implementing processes and proceduresSupporting and rewarding our workforceThe size and magnitude of our business not only provides significant opportunities for professional development, but also attractive salary packages with performance-based bonuses.Opportunities for growth and career development.Access to mentoring programs.Flexible working arrangements.8 weeks paid parental leave for primary carer at full pay following 12 months of service.Novated leasing and discounts on selected health insurance funds, gyms, vehicles and more.Travel Account for discounts on hotels, hire vehicles and flights.About Our ProcessAt Progress Rail, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the Values and meet the requirements of the role.
