An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) Theatre Coordinator to join the Perioperative Service team at Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS). This key leadership role is responsible for coordinating both planned and unplanned theatre activity, including emergency, ASU and trauma lists, Monday to Friday. Working within a dynamic and patient-focused surgical model, the CNC will drive theatre efficiency, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide expert clinical support. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, evidence-based perioperative care and contribute to the effective daily operations of the Sunshine Coast University Hospital Theatre Unit.

Key Responsibilities include: Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces. Responsible for managing the operating theatre activity Monday to Friday, overseeing the unplanned and planned surgery lists in collaboration with the Duty Anaesthetist. Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the theatre staff and ensure that they follow the policies and protocols of the hospital and the professional standards of care. Work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, duty anaesthetists, emergency department, trauma teams, radiology, theatre staff and other health professionals to ensure that patients receive safe, efficient, and effective care during surgery and communicate with the theatre team and other departments to coordinate the availability of resources, equipment, and staff. Monitor and evaluate the quality and outcomes of the emergency theatre service and identify areas for improvement. Remuneration based pro rata on equivalent full time value up to $164,212 p.a., comprising salary rates $66.85 - $72.58 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 7) (part time positions).
