Safety Management System (SMS) Coordinator Job reference: 637152Location: Adelaide CBDOngoing appointmentSalary: $108,109 to $116,864 pa (ASO7) + superannuation The Department for Infrastructure and Transport is one of the largest state government agencies in South Australia.Our extensive portfolio means we interact with South Australians daily through the infrastructure we build and maintain, transport systems we operate, licensing and regulatory services we administer, and the safety initiatives we drive.Public Transport South AustraliaPublic Transport South Australia (PTSA) moves millions of South Australians, providing well-connected and customer-focused public transport services safely, efficiently, and sustainably.We are involved in delivering game-changing projects, from the electrification of our trains to the exciting transition to renewable energy.The OpportunityWe are seeking a Safety Management System (SMS) Coordinator to join our dedicated team.In this key role, the SMS Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the improvement and maintenance of PTSA's SMS, ensuring that operational teams receive guidance and support.This role involves implementing and coordinating assigned projects and systems, developing policies, and supporting planning, change, and improvement initiatives across the organisation.The SMS Coordinator will handle complex, sensitive matters and develop insightful reports and recommendations.The ideal candidate will have expertise in the Rail Safety National Law (SA) Act 2012 and WHS legislation.This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage with various stakeholders and prepare and deliver awareness or training programs.Qualifications/ExperienceQualifications in Safety Management and/or Quality Management will be highly regarded.A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Health & Safety or Certificate IV in Quality/Safety will also be highly regarded.A current driver's licence is required.Special ConditionsPrior to employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide: A National Police Check (NPC) which must be renewed every three years.A Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
