The Role
Reporting to the General Manager and A / Prof Faruque Riffat, you will provide efficient clinical care in ENT and Head and Neck surgery for adult and paediatric patients. The position will provide medical and surgical support to the ENT consultants and nursing staff within the hospital.
As an ENT Registrar, your responsibilities will include:
* Provision of surgical assistant skills in the operating theatre to support the Accredited Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) in the treatment of adult and paediatric patients.
* Review patients in the wards, Emergency Department, and Intensive Care Unit as required by and under the supervision of the Accredited VMO.
* Review inpatients pre and post-operatively at the request of the Accredited VMO.
* Participate in ENT Department meetings.
* Participate in clinical teaching opportunities.
What you'll need to succeed:
* Current Medical Practitioner AHPRA Registration (General Registration).
* MBBS and eligible for AHPRA Registration.
* Experience in a similar role within the public or private health sector.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and training requirements for junior doctors.
* Excellent computer applications knowledge, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Excel, and the Internet.
* Ability to liaise and develop positive working relationships with relevant authorities and VMOs / Staff Specialists.
* PGY3 or more.
* Current Advanced Life Support certification.
* Ability to identify deteriorating patients and provide immediate resuscitation.
* Team player with excellent clinical assessment and communication skills.
* Demonstrated flexibility and organisational skills.
* Excellent technical skills, including central venous access, arterial lines, and endotracheal intubation.
This role is a temporary 10-month appointment to start on 12 May 2025.
