This is an exciting opportunity for a payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values accuracy, and champions innovation.Key Responsibilities:Manage and oversee the entire end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Manage the development and execution of internal payroll compliance programs of works for the end-to-end employee lifecycle activities including compliance frameworks and checklists.Provide leadership and guidance to the payroll team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Develop and implement efficient payroll processes that enhance operational efficiency and reduce the risk of errors. This includes automating processes where possible in partnership with the People Systems team.Ensure payroll practices and processes are compliant with legislation and policies.Understand payroll risks and determine how to strengthen controls.Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.Collaborate strategically with key stakeholders across the business, including Workplace Relations, People & Culture, and Internal Audit, to inform them of emerging trends, insights, and findings.Lead and coach payroll teams on compliance and data accuracy.Develop and implement an annual payroll audit framework and conduct proactive compliance reviews.Monitor and manage legislative changes, educating the team and ensuring compliance.Own Payroll compliance risk register and continuous improvement backlog.Experience and Skills:Working with Ascender Pay; not essential but highly regarded.Comprehensive understanding of payroll management and wage compliance.Proven experience monitoring legislative changes and industry best practices, proactively researching and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.Led a payroll function, with a strong focus on employee experience and proven experience in system automation.Strong leadership and management skills, including risk management, change implementation, and the ability to coach, mentor, and engage individuals to achieve goals.Interviews are expected to commence in the next week, so please apply today!
