With over 700 dedicated professionals across Brisbane and regional offices, we work tirelessly to ensure that Queensland's communities, businesses, and water resources thrive.The RoleAssist the team with the coordination of whole of department advice for projects of state and regional significance. You will work closely with departmental officers to ensure the DLGWV’s interests are considered for these projects. The role also provides an opportunity to participate in project facilitation for emerging projects of state and regional significance and involvement with coordinating feedback on proposed regional plans and regional infrastructure plans.The location for the position is Cairns with other flexible work location arrangements considered for this opportunity to facilitate an adaptive and agile workforce.Key Accountabilities:Coordinate the department’s state interests for major project development proposals under the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971, Environmental Protection Act 1994 and Planning Act 2016.Review development schemes for state and priority development areas and priority ports, including new and amended schemes and coordinate assessable development triggered by the development schemes.Coordinate requests for designation of land for community infrastructure.Liaise with the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning on a protocol for provision of DLGWV advice concerning development under the Planning Act 2016.Input into business improvement systems and processes and ensuring high quality and consistent advice is delivered to the department’s customers.Represent DLGWV at internal/external meetings, interdepartmental working groups and participate in regional and state-wide project teams.Input into annual business/operational plans, budgets and service level agreements for the delivery of Major Projects (Qld) functions across the state.About YouA Degree or qualification relevant to natural resource management or planning or agreed equivalent as determined by the Director-General.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to network and provide reliable whole of department advice to customers and stakeholders.A current Queensland ‘C” class Driver’s licence.Travel away from the centre may be required.The BenefitsMake a difference on sustainable water resources across regional QueenslandTraining and career development opportunitiesHighly valued State government perks!Hybrid flexible work arrangementsWe believe our workforce should represent the community we serve.
