About The Opportunity NSW Health pathology is looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and experienced collection manager to join the team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Camperdown. The role may require visits to external collection centres such as Green Square, Balmain and our new collection centre at Everleigh.
The successful candidate will be responsible for looking after a team of 58 collections staff, administration staff and nursing staff to ensure our collection service runs smoothly and meets the needs of the patients and stakeholders in SLHD. They should have good communication skills, strong leadership skills and good time management.
This is an excellent opportunity to work at a world-class health service facility with a dedicated team providing inpatient collections services to the hospital, outpatient clinics and working with the laboratory services within the hospital at Royal Prince Alfred.

This includes:
Responsibilities in relation to patient services, ward or unit management and staff management Technical leadership and supervision of more complex collections (e.g. Port-a-caths, PICC lines, therapeutic venesections) and complex patients (e.g. haemophilia, oncology) Interested in joining Australia's largest public pathology service? Registered Nurse with current registration through the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). A current First Aid Certificate and a commitment to maintain a current certification. Demonstrated leadership qualities with experience managing a clinical team within a health care setting and demonstrated understanding of a Pathology environment and a Clinical Pathology Collection Service. Has undertaken and continues to engage in professional development to further advance their management and leadership competencies. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication, interpersonal skills. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to quality improvement and the ability to manage change. Computer literacy skills – including Microsoft Word; Excel Spreadsheets; Recruitment system; Rostering System; Procurement.
