About the RoleWe are seeking a proactive and compassionate Family Law Paralegal to join our close-knit team. In this role, you will work directly with our Legal Partner & Director, John Patterson, providing legal support and assisting with the smooth running of our practice. Key responsibilities include: Assisting with legal research and document preparation. Managing client files, both physically and digitally, including monitoring deadlines, indexing disclosure, and preparing files for court. Handling incoming calls and inquiries, providing professional and friendly support to clients. Scheduling appointments and managing calendars. Supporting administrative functions, including file management, data entry, and office administration. Drafting correspondence and legal documents, including undertaking research. Accurately capturing time spent on tasks. Liaising with other professionals and court personnel. Assisting with billing and invoicing processes as needed. About YouThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal support, administration, or a related field, with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. We are looking for someone who is proactive, compassionate, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Specifically, we are looking for someone who has: Prior experience as a paralegal, particularly in family law. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software (experience with Outlook and document management systems is an advantage). High-level time management skills and attention to detail. A willingness to work both independently and in a team environment. A desire to learn and to take feedback on board. A basic understanding of conflict resolution techniques, useful in supporting mediations or helping clients manage their emotions during difficult times.
