AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're responsible for keeping the cloud running. Our team supports all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure our customers have continuous access to innovation.
We work on complex problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain. The Role
* Operational Excellence: Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity problems, including network device hardware failures.
* Identify and troubleshoot recurring platform problems.
* Collaborate with internal teams to diagnose problems and return devices/configurations to a healthy state.
* Escalate to external vendors (Cisco, Juniper, etc) to diagnose problems and facilitate part replacement.
* Work with ISPs to diagnose problems between Amazon's network and their infrastructure.

B.S. Degree in Network Systems Administration, Computer Networks and Security, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or equivalent is mandatory. Exposure to various routing technologies (Cisco, Juniper, etc), Linux/Unix operating systems, understanding of OSI and TCP/IP models, OSPF, BGP, TCP, ARP, and Ethernet Protocols is required. Experience troubleshooting switching and routing hardware, layer 1 and 2 network problems, and working with customers to diagnose and resolve issues is essential. Basic understanding of UNIX/LINUX operating environments and ability to navigate, manipulate, and understand file structure is necessary. Experience scripting with Python and/or Perl, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to interact efficiently with peers and customers, and multitasking effectively are also required.
