Associate Professor in EducationFull time, continuing appointment – 2 positions availableResearch Active Academic Level D Salary - $154,069 to $168,544 paPlus 17% superannuation and 6 weeks annual leaveCasuarina Campus Utilise your passion and experience in Education to teach students at Charles Darwin University About the PositionAs the Associate Professor in Education (Accreditation), you will lead and contribute to the success of the Education, Enabling and Linguistics Discipline and, more broadly, the Faculty of Arts and Society.Offering leadership in the areas of scholarship, program development, facilitation, post-graduate training, teaching, and research within the Education area of the discipline leading to improved student experience and outcomes.You will be involved in the development and teaching of units (courses), utilising both on-campus and flexible-mode of teaching and learning support and will assist with the development and dissemination of high-quality research outputs relevant to the area of discipline.About YouTo be successful, you will require: A PhD level qualification in a relevant Education or related discipline including original, innovative, and distinguished contributions to research, scholarship and teaching as demonstrated through sustained and distinguished performance.An established research profile in relevant discipline including evidence of research activity and outcomes, such as publications, external grants, or consultancies in the field at national and international level.Proven ability to teach specialisms in one or more of early learning, primary and/or secondary areas including Early Childhood Learning, Educational Assessment, Literacy and Second Language Learning, Humanities and Social Science Curriculum, and Science Education.Demonstrated ability to manage unit (subject) teaching in internal and distance education modes, including through online platforms.Demonstrated understanding of a university learning environment and equity programs and providing supportive education to people from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds and varying age groups.Ability to contribute to the development of units/courses and student resources in response to reflective practice and application of scholarship (including for online and face-to-face teaching) and within the context and requirements of a quality education provider.Excellent professional teamwork and communication skills, including oral, written, information communication technology (ICT) and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to represent the university at a range of forums, and to liaise, communicate, negotiate and collaborate with clients, stakeholders and partners, to deliver a valued service and achieve agreed outcomes.
