Legal Counsel

About the role
We’re seeking a Legal Counsel to join our growing legal team, providing exceptional legal services to all areas of GV Health including the Board of Directors, Chief Executive, Executive Management Team, Foundation, and employees.
Reporting to the General Counsel, you’ll deliver high quality, practical, timely and considered legal advice on a broad range of matters affecting GV Health, including:
* Health-related legal matters: health law, privacy, Freedom of Information, reporting obligations, consent to treatment, family law and children’s law.
* Commercial and Regulatory: contract preparation and interpretation, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, purchase and lease of real property, insurance, statutory interpretation, probity and procurement.
This is a true legal generalist’s in-house role and the successful candidate will have the satisfaction of supporting the delivery of essential healthcare services in the Goulburn Valley.
The successful candidate will have:
* Admission to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
* Possess or be eligible to obtain a Victorian Practising Certificate from the Legal Practice Board of Victoria.
* At least 3 years' post-admission experience in legal practice either in a well-regarded private legal practice, or in government or a substantial corporation.
* Conflict resolution or litigation and/or regulatory experience.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Hours are negotiable for the preferred candidate.
