We operate more than 60 laboratories and around 200 collection centres across NSW and conduct over 60 million tests per annum. Our network of pathologists are supported by scientists, technicians and support staff who quickly and accurately assess samples so clinical teams can make the best possible treatment decisions for patients. What you'll be doing
The Revenue Audit Officer is to oversee and audit pathology billing practices to maximise revenue while ensuring full compliance with Medicare, Ministry of Health, and Commonwealth policies. The role leads revenue improvement projects, monitors billing system processes, and collaborates with laboratory and IT staff to address discrepancies and enhance billing accuracy within the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
Additionally, the Revenue Audit Officer provides insights and guidance to stakeholders on billing performance, supports updates and upgrades to the LIS, and conducts forensic audits as directed to maintain high standards of revenue quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Demonstrated ability to analyse, investigate and resolve issues for stakeholders.
* Effective written and communication skills with a proven ability to deal and negotiate with all stakeholders, both internal and external.
* Sound working knowledge and practical skills in diagnostic billing including legislation and billing requirements relating to revenue generation within the Medicare system and private health insurers.
* Demonstrated ability to assist with the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards and practices which lead to sustainable improvements in productivity and effectiveness.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and monitor the implementation of agreed audit report recommendations.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise work schedules to meet targets and deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence and co-ordinate relevant staff.
