About the position We are seeking a Senior Practitioner to support the headspace Wollongong team in delivering efficient, effective, safe, and high-quality mental health services to young people.
This position offers the opportunity to: Develop your clinical leadership skills and provide support as part of the clinical management team Serve as a key point of contact for team members, supporting the escalation of care pathways.
Work with young people to identify their support needs, goals and to develop collaborative care plans Collaborate with the Service Manager, Clinical Lead, and external stakeholders to develop person-centred, recovery-focused, evidence-based services that achieve positive outcomes for young people and their families.
This role is available full-time or part-time (hours and days negotiable), fixed-term to 30 June 2026, with the potential for extension.
Full-time roles have the option to enjoy a monthly RDO.
We are looking for someone with: Minimum of two years post graduate experience in mental health service and hold full AHPRA registration as a Clinical Psychologist, Registered Psychologist, or Occupational Therapist (and eligible for mental health accreditation with OTA) or be a Social Worker holding an approved Social Work Qualification and be eligible for mental health accreditation with AASW Experience in assessment of mental health disorders, and provision of Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based focused psychological strategies.
Experience working with young people and their families or carers in a family inclusive practice model.
Demonstrated understanding of key issues in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems including the ability to effectively engage with young people and their family, friends or carers.
