Job Description:
This Australian company recycles hundreds of tonnes per week of building materials that would otherwise go to landfill, processing them into products that enable farmers to be more productive, profitable and sustainable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Hands-on maintenance and fabrication activities
* Plan and schedule maintenance activities, including preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, to minimise equipment downtime and maximise production output
* Monitor equipment performance, identify potential issues, and implement appropriate maintenance strategies to prevent breakdowns and minimise disruptions
* Conduct regular inspections to assess the condition of machinery, equipment, and facilities, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
* Collaborate with other departments, such as production and engineering, to coordinate maintenance activities and prioritise tasks based on operational needs
* Manage and maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring availability and timely procurement
* Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, reports, and equipment history, using computerised maintenance management systems
* Manage cost expenditure carefully to within budget
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial setting
* Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of technicians
* Strong technical background with preferably a mechanical trade qualification
* Strong technical knowledge and understanding of maintenance principles, practices, and equipment reliability
* Experience in maintaining trucks and heavy equipment such as excavators and industrial manufacturing process equipment would be well regarded
* Proficient computer skills, including experience with maintenance management processes and software
