Today, we have around 90 Boarders from all over Australia and overseas.The RoleThe Boarding House community is seeking flexible and caring casual candidates to contribute in a unique way to the Boarding School, commencing Term 1 2025.Working under the direction of the Head of Boarding, you will be a key contributor in ensuring the safe welfare, pastoral care, and academic progress of all Boarders. You will be responsible for the preservation of routine within a facility that houses approximately 45 secondary male students (aged 14-18 years) or 45 secondary female students at our Caulfield Campus.The role provides up to 10 hours per week, with 1 or 2 sleepovers. Duties involve working with the Head of Boarding to ensure the welfare and happiness of students within the boarding community, after-hours supervision, ensuring boarder safety, and monitoring student attendance and conduct during mealtimes, meetings, and specified events.Key DutiesModel and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.Ensure a safe and welcoming environment where the boarders can excel and thrive.Monitor, plan and action steps to maintain the wellbeing of all boarding students.Attend all functions and meetings as necessary and represent the boarding house when required.Be available for a variety of days and times across the week including overnight shifts (as required).Skills and ExperienceExperience working with teenagers.Ability to quickly build rapport with others (boarders, parents, and staff).A strong work ethic to commit to a range of shifts across 7 days per week during school term time.Experience in social work/pastoral care role/residential environment (desired, but not essential).Post-Secondary Education Qualification (desired).Ability to ensure rules and procedures are consistently maintained.Level 2 First Aid Certification, Anaphylaxis Certification, and CPR.Current Employment Working with Children Check or VIT Registration.Why Caulfield Grammar SchoolOur culture is defined by the five values: Pursuing Excellence, Inspiring Creativity, Thriving Together, Embracing Diversity, and Living Wholeheartedly.
